UPDATE: We
started our Skypecasts early in 2007 but as usual we were probably a
bit early in so far as the technology is concerned because Skype is not
quite as popular with Aussies as it is with international listeners at
the moment - and while we like to try and include everyone, we are
predominately AU based.
The other problem we hadn't considered were 'the
ratbags' - those who just want to spoil it for everyone else with
blasphemous tirades etc. So even though we have temporarily stopped our Skypecasts
until we sort out a few things, we hope to bring these back soon - meantime we hope you enjoy
the first SkypeCast show we did.

 OUR
FIRST SKYPECAST!...
Well our very first SkypeCast got off to a shaky start (it failed!)
but we persisted, set up a new SkypeCast and ended up talking with about
45 people from all around the world for about 90mins... including a
lovely guy - Christy - from Romania who just got a puppy.
We've selected the best listener questions for you to check out what

What is Skype? -
PLEASE READ NOTE AT TOP OF PAGE
"Skype is a little piece of software that lets you make free calls
to anyone else on Skype, anywhere in the world. "
That's the official version - it's a little like Yahoo Messenger. If you have
never used programs like this before and feel it's all too hard, take another
look!.
Skype is so simple even Kaye set it up on her own PC!!
Seriously though - You don't have to set up Skype with long lists of 'friends'
and you can block out the world if you don't want anyone 'bothering' you.
To take part in one of our PetTalkRadio-SKYPECasts, just download
SKYPE and go to SkypeCasts
or click on the NEXT SKYPECAST link that will appear on this page once we get
going.
What is a SkypeCast?
A SkypeCast allows content originators like us to broadcast to other
Skype users right around the world. .
We can accept live chat (talkback) and respond immediately just like any normal
radio talkback show. We can also let you chat with other listeners -especially
if there is a topic of great interest with several differing views! - Of course
these will still be moderated but it gives YOU a chance to finally have your say
on our show. And best of all - you will remain anonymous.
Because our show is only live in Sydney every Monday - 5pm-6pm, 2RRR, 88.5FM - we
can't include listeners across Australia or even from around the world,because most stations take a delayed satellite broadcast, but we hope our PetTalkRadioSKYPECasts will change all that.
Initially we will record 'live' chats between ourselves and listeners -
answering questions about your pets, stories we've done and much more.
This will go on the website under the PetTalkRadioSKYPECasts page.
If the chat is good , then we'll start including these sessions into our normal
weekly programming for our radio audience.
Like many things on-line, there's some good stuff and there's some rubbish... we
hope you'll enjoy our stuff - it will only be as good as the people who get
involved.
