If we are to believe the experts… exotic animals such as lizards snakes and frogs are now so popular as pets, that in a few years they’ll outnumber dogs and cats. 

Regular listeners will know that as far as Kaye’s concerned, her idea of a great reptile is one that’s… a very long way away from her… (watch 'Snake News') - but she’s slowly coming around to the idea, especially after we went along to the biggest event on the reptile calendar - the 2008 Frog and Reptile Show at Castle Hill in Sydney.

This incredibly professional and highly organised reptile expo (put on by no less than reptile guru Anthony Stimpson) saw thousands of people checking out everything from exotic snakes and lizards to frill neck friendly furniture! 

Plus a live 4 metre crocodile was happily basking in a large portable tank. So how’d he get there? 

We tracked down his owner – and trainer - Nowra Wildlife Park’s Nicholas Schilko.
