What are RSS Feeds and how can I use them?

* PROBLEM - Receiving updates easily
So much e-mail gets lost these days - considered SPAM by many ISP's and inboxes. That means of the 5,000+ e-mails we send out to registered users every week, nearly 40% are either lost in a sea of 'Spam Alert' folders or rejected by some servers even though YOU subscribed to our updates.

Additionally people are changing their e-mail address like underwear! - This creates lots of bounces for us that need to be deleted and requires users to re-subscribe to possibly dozens of content updates they may want.

And we are not alone - most content providers have the same problem.

* SOLUTION -

You've probably noticed various icons when you surf the net (like the ones above) - particularly on Yahoo! and other search engine sites... These are links to what are called XML or RSS (Extensible Markup Language and Really Simple Syndication) files.

They are usually 'read' by news readers (a small program) and 'feed' you updates from whichever website you subscribe to - REALLY SIMPLE!

However you can also add our updates to myYahoo! or iTunes or Google etc just by clicking the appropriate button next to each.

You'll never miss another update even if you change e-mail addresses!

Handling audio downloads easily
We are very aware many people have 'limited' internet / PC skills - no worries that problem is easily solved so please read on.

Podcasts are simply audio files on the web that you can download. We have been providing these files since November 2002.

Many freely available programs like iPodder (Juice) iTunes etc now automatically download Podcasts every time we upload a new show.

You decide what segment to listen to and when. If you happen to have an actual Apple iPOD then you can interface the two of them and take our show with you!... The same for standard MP3 players like our favourite - iRiver.
