Another Summit Another Huge Success!!

The National Summit to End Pet Overpopulation was held on the Gold Coast during June, and what a great event it was.

The summit was attended by a fantastic group of people from a wide range of animal related industries from all over Australia and New Zealand. Many areas were represented with attendees from the pet industry, veterinarians, refuge and rescue groups, members of State and Local Government, breeders, micro-chipping agencies as well as interested members of the general public.

Many thanks to the International and National speakers as well as attendees who shared their challenges and strategies and were able to set targets to reduce the number of companion animals euthanased in Australia.

One of the major outcomes was the formation of a National Coalition to End Pet Overpopulation. In fact we had so much positive feedback that we will be holding the event again next year so we will be sure to keep you updated. More information and a complete summary of the summit and its outcomes will be available on our website in the very near future so please visit again soon.

Another major event on the NDN calendar is of course National Desexing Month, which will be taking place again this year in August. After last years success we are looking forward to another month of increased desexing and awareness.

All vets, animal welfare organisations and interested parties are encouraged to participate.
For more information please call Gemma on 1300 368 992 and join us in the fight against pet overpopulation in Australia!
